Any organisation contemplating setting up a NILS® will need to organise Policies and Procedures and documents for their Scheme. In Part 2 of the Good Shepherd Information Resource Kit for NILS® , A Guide to Accreditation, you will find guidelines for these Policies and Procedures and Attachments.

The Accreditation Checklist is a very useful resource which you can follow to make sure you have all the relevant documentation for your Scheme to be accredited.

Once these documents have been produced by your organisation, they are sent to Good Shepherd for Accreditation and if they meet the Common Principles and Standards for Accreditation, you will then sign a Participation Agreement.
