No Interest Loan Schemes

 Information for community groups

Cheap products

NIL schemes can help clients buy products at the lowest possible price.

Local retailers

Relationships with local whitegoods suppliers can be very useful. Local retailers such as Retravision stores are happy to help local people in need. A purchase via NILS® is a cheap transaction for retailers, as they avoid merchant fees on credit sales. After developing a good relationship, retailers will often offer a discount and/or arrange free delivery.

Computers

People sometimes ask about getting a No Interest Loan to buy a computer. Whilst some schemes will lend for this, an alternative is to buy a computer on weekly terms from Virtual Communities.  This is a project which aims to ensure all Australians can have access to information technology.

Infoxchange Australia has a computer recycling program called 'The Green PC', where low cost refurbished computers are available for community groups and those with low incomes.  Holders of health care cards can have access.

WorkVentures Connect IT computer reuse program is another complementary initiative, providing refurbished ex-corporate and Government PCs at affordable prices for other not-for-profit organisations, schools and people on low incomes.
